We only run a handful of Percheron mares each year and they are, for the most part,  bred to our stallion, Bear Creek Don.

Nan

Ken got Nan in 1986 from Walter Hughes in trade for working at Bear Creek Farm.  She is sired by Prince Joe.   She has been used as a pulling horse, for skidding logs, running farm machinery, breaking colts and as a brood mare.  Nan has had many foals here and as you'll see, she has raised some good ones!  Nan is now in retirement, only getting used to help start colts.

Ruby

Ruby was sired by Kennedy's Diamond  Bob and her dam (also named Ruby) was a foal by Pilot of Glynlea and out of our mare, Nan.  Ruby has also been used on the farm and in the bush.  She was a late foal of 1997 and never quit growing!  She stands 18hh and throws big, stylish babies for us.  Ruby is bred to Don for a 2008 foal.

Bess

Bess is a 1998 model.  We  got her from Lee Dennis, and she too is by Kennedy's Diamond  Bob but out of a mare named Dolly.  Bess has been driven but we have been breeding her since we got her.  She is also bred to Don for a 2008 foal.
